245 _aModel for the Effect of Environmental Pollution on the Survival of Resource Dependent Population with Time Delay /
_cManju Agarwal and Nancy Gupta
520 _aIn this paper, a nonlinear mathematical model is proposed and analyzed to study the effect of environmental pollution on the biological population such as human beings dependent on resource-biomass with time delay. It is assumed that the environmental pollutant have delayed harmful effect on the resource-biomass of the population. The accumulated pollutant in the biomass will indirectly slow down the growth of biological population. The proposed model is analysed for local and global stability of the equilibrium point using stability theory of differential equation as well as through numerical simulation. The introduction of delay in the model has lead to instability in the system. Further, it is shown that if the formation of the toxic substance is either very high or low then it destabilizes the system.
